AP Associated Press is an independent news organization who have been delivering accurate factual stories since 1846. AP are a leader of breaking news stories and current affairs with over 250 offices worldwide including Bangkok where SL+A has recently completed the design, construction and relocation.
Inspired by the endless energy of the capital city, SL+A decided to combine Thai playful patterns with modern materials selection to reflect this energy and vitality. Natural light, neutral color palette and detailed patterns presented in the material help weave AP’s corporate identity and Bangkok uniqueness together.
Meeting rooms, pantry area, a broadcasting room and other accommodations are provided for journalists, reporters and staffs. Late-night and long-hours are common within AP, so ergonomic workstations and furniture are very carefully considered and selected to support these efforts and deadlines.
Open views across Lumpini park – blinds were cancelled – and a recharge from the lung of the city give AP a respite from the endless computer screen and TV screen work load that the modern work place demands.
Finally, a variety of work settings and break out areas allow for collaborative as well as concentration work. The entire office is office free but offers ample room for meetings, exchanges and a drip feed of media from the city that never sleeps. The AP office was completed in April 2021 under a Turnkey services contract.
